1 package of Creative Cajun Cooking’s Roast & Gravy Magic

7 cups of water

5-6 pounds Beef Roast (your favorite cut)

1 bottle Creative Cajun Cooking’s Cajun BBQ Wing Sauce

1 can 12 ounces Coke

Directions:

1--- In the crock pot, mix pack of Creative Cajun Cooking’s Roast & Gravy Magic (seasoning bag) with 6 cups of water.

2--- Place Roast in pot (You can sear it on all sides in a skillet first, but that is optional.) Spoon some of the seasoned water over the top.

3--- Pour Coke around edges and drizzle Creative Cajun Cooking Creative Cajun Cooking’s Cajun BBQ Wing Sauce over the top of the roast.

4--- Turn the slow cooker on low and let cook for 7-8 hours.

5--- When the roast is cooked through, remove the meat from the slow cooker and set it aside to rest. Turn the slow cooker to high. Empty the Creative Cajun Cooking’s Roast & Gravy Magic gravy thickening bag into a bowl with 2 cups of water, and whisk until smooth. Pour thickening mixture slowly into the liquid in the slow cooker, stirring as you go. You may not need all of the thickener to achieve the gravy thickness you want.

6--- Slice and serve the Beef Roast, spoon the gravy over the top. If you have a side of Mashed Potatoes or Rice, spoon some over that also.

STOVETOP/DUTCH OVEN:

Chicken, Taters & Gravy:

NOTE: To make this, you need a camp style Dutch Oven (with legs and a rimmed lid). If you don't have the rimmed lid, the charcoals won't stay put and could fall in your food when you lift the lid!!

Equipment:
8 qt camp style Dutch Oven with legs and rimmed lid

charcoals, lighter fluid

tongs for handling coals

chimney starter makes getting coals hot easier, but is optional

lid lifter or very good pot holders - the iron will get (and stay) very hot

a metal plate under the whole setup makes cleanup easier, but you can do this over dirt, rocks, or sand

Ingredients:

1 box of Creative Cajun Cooking’s Roast & Gravy Magic (contains 1 seasoning bag, 1 gravy thickening bag)

8 cups of water, divided (4 16 oz bottles of water)

4 lbs boneless chicken thighs, cut up

1-2 lbs new potatoes, sliced

Directions:

1--- Use a chimney starter or arrange coals in a pyramid, soak well with lighter fluid and carefully ignite the charcoals. When they start getting ashy, arrange them in a circle just underneath the bottom of the pot (this is why your pot needs legs.) You will need backup coals to finish cooking this recipe, so have some more to the side. When getting started, don't just set the pot on a ton of hot coals - it could crack. Once the pot is hot, if you want to crank up the heat, add extra hot coals under the pot and on top the lid, using tongs.

2---In a large Dutch Oven, mix pack of Creative Cajun Cooking’s Roast & Gravy Magic (seasoning bag) with 1 cup of the water (1/2 water bottle).

3--- Add the chicken. Add 5 more cups water (2 1/2 water bottles)

4--- Stir all together, close the lid. Arrange some of the hot coals on top of the rimmed lid.

5--- Bring to a gentle boil, stirring every now and then. When meat is cooked and getting tender, add the potatoes, stir, and close the lid. Replace spent coals with more hot coals as necessary.

6--- When the potatoes get cooked and tender, empty the Creative Cajun Cooking’s Roast & Gravy Magic gravy thickening bag into a separate bowl with 2 cups of water (1 bottle), and whisk with a fork until smooth. Pour thickening mixture slowly into the pot, stirring as you go. You may not need all of the thickener to achieve the gravy thickness you want. I use about half of it when doing this recipe. If you want extra thick gravy, use it all.

7--- When the gravy is thickened how you like it, take the pot off the heat and serve.

Pork & gravy (chunks)

Ingredients:

1 box of Creative Cajun Cooking’s Roast & Gravy Magic (contains 1 seasoning bag, 1 gravy thickening bag)

6 cups of water, divided

1 can 12 ounces Coca-Cola

3-4 lbs cubed pork

1 cup Creative Cajun Cooking’s Cajun BBQ Wing Sauce

Directions:

1--- In a large sauce pan, mix pack of Creative Cajun Cooking’s Roast & Gravy Magic (seasoning bag) with 4 cups of water and the can of Coke.

2--- Add the pork and 1 cup BBQ Wing Sauce.

3--- Stir all together, set heat to medium high.

4--- Bring to a gentle boil, stirring every now and then. Then cut heat back to medium low and let simmer until meat is cooked through, 20 - 30 minutes.

5--- Empty the Creative Cajun Cooking’s Roast & Gravy Magic gravy thickening bag into a bowl with 2 cups of water, and whisk until smooth. Pour thickening mixture slowly into the liquid in the pot, stirring as you go. You may not need all of the thickener to achieve the gravy thickness you want. I use about half of it when doing this recipe. If you want extra thick gravy, use it all.

6--- When the gravy is thickened how you like it, turn off the heat and serve over cooked rice or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients:

Package comes with a 2 bag process:

1 Seasoning Bag and 1 Gravy Thickening bag

1 package of Creative Cajun Cooking’s Roast & Gravy Magic

6-7 pounds Beef Roast (your favorite cut)

1 bottle Creative Cajun Cooking’s Cajun BBQ Wing Sauce

1 can 12 ounces Coke

6 cups water, divided

Directions:

1--- In the pot or pan you are cooking in, mix pack of Creative Cajun Cooking’s Roast & Gravy Magic seasoning part with 4 cups of water.

2--- Place Roast in pan

3--- Pour Coke around edges and drizzle Creative Cajun Cooking Creative Cajun Cooking’s Cajun BBQ Wing Sauce over the top of the roast.

4--- Install a  heat proof meat thermometer to center of meat, cover with foil and place in oven at 350 degrees until internal temperature reaches 95 degrees F, uncover then keep cooking until meat reaches 140 degrees F, then remove from oven.

5--- Place Creative Cajun Cooking’s Roast & Gravy Magic gravy thickener in a bowl with 2 cups of tap water and whisk until smooth.

6--- Remove meat from pot to let rest. Set pot with cooking liquids on the stove, set to medium heat. Slowly stir in gravy thickening mixture into pot, using only as much as you need for the gravy thickness you want. For extra thick gravy, use it all. For thinner gravy, use less thickener. When it's thick enough, turn off the heat and serve.

7--- As you serve the pork roast, spoon the gravy over the top. If you have a side of Mashed Potatoes or Rice, spoon some over that also.
