Jamba Pasta-Laya & Dirty Rice Mix

SLOW COOKER METHOD

For Pastalaya

1—Place Mix in 6 quart slow cooker with 7 1/2 cups of water

2--- Add 1 pound of cut pork (Trimmed fat) and1 pound of cut boneless / skinless chicken thighs.

3--- Set slow cooker on high for 3-4 hours, or on low for 8 hours.

4--- After pork and chicken is cooked, stir in ½ pound of sliced sausage and bring back to a slow boil.

5--- Stir in 1 ½ pounds of pasta sliding a fork separating it and lifting gently often to make sure pasta does not stick together, and cook until tender.

6--- Turn off, cover and let stand 10 minutes to allow to steam itself before serving.

 

For Jambalaya

1—Place Mix in 6 quart slow cooker with 6 cups of water.

2--- Add 1 pound of cut pork (Trimmed fat) and1 pound of cut boneless / skinless chicken thighs.

3--- Set slow cooker on high for 3-4 hours, or on low for 8 hours.

4--- After pork and chicken is cooked, stir in ½ pound of sliced sausage and bring back to a slow boil.

5--- Stir in 2 ½ cups of par-boiled rice sliding flat point spoon on bottom of pot, lifting gently often, and cook until tender. Turn off pot.

6--- Turn off cover and let stand 10 minutes to allow to steam itself before serving.

 

For Dirty Rice

1— Place 1 ½ pounds of ground breakfast sausage in 6 quart slow cooker with 6 cups of water and mash it up in the water until it has all separated. I like to use a disposable glove.

2--- Place Mix in with sausage and water and stir.

3--- Place ½ pound of ground chicken giblets and on high, bring to a boil then cooking for 25 minutes.

4--- Stir in 2 ½ cups of par-boiled rice sliding flat point spoon on bottom of pot, lifting gently often, and cook until tender.

5--- Chop up 2 cups of some different colors bell pepper, green onion tops, and blend into rice mixture after rice is cooked.

6--- Turn off cover and let stand 10 minutes to allow it to steam itself before serving.

 

 

PRESSURE COOKER (INSTANT POT) METHOD:

 

For Jambalaya

 

1—Place Mix in 8 quart Instant Pot with 6 ¾ cups of water.

 

2--- Add 1 pound of cut pork (Trimmed fat) and stir in 1 pound of boneless / skinless chicken thighs

 

3--- Program Steam for 15 minutes with natural pressure relief 14 minutes with lid on.

 

4--- After pot lid is opened stir in ½ pound of sliced sausage and with lid off press Rice at 30 minutes.

 

5--- Pour in 2 ½ cups of par-boiled rice. Lift rice from bottom to top gently so it don’t stick, until rice is nearly done. Then press Cancel!

 

6--- Cover and let stand 5 minutes to let it steam it self

 

 

 

For Pastalaya

 

1—Place Mix in 8 quart Instant Pot with 7 cups of water

 

2--- Add 1 pound of cut pork (Trimmed fat) and stir in 1 pound of boneless / skinless chicken thighs

 

3--- Program Steam for 15 minutes with natural pressure relief 14 minutes with lid on.

 

4--- After pot lid is opened stir in ½ pound of sliced sausage and with lid off press Rice at 20 minutes.

 

5--- Stir in 2 pounds of pasta broken in thirds saturating each piece so it will not stick together lifting from bottom to top. Then press Cancel!

 

6--- Cover and let stand 5 minutes to let it steam it self

 

 

 

For Dirty Rice

 

1—Place Mix in 8 quart Instant Pot with 6 ¾ cups of water.

 

2--- Place 1 ½ pounds of ground breakfast sausage and mash it up in the water until it has all separated.

 

3--- Place ½ pound of ground chicken giblets and stir in

 

4--- Stir in 2 ½ cups of par-boiled rice

 

5--- Cover and pressure cook 5 minutes then on natural release 5 minutes. Then press Cancel!

 

6--- Chop up 2 cups of some different colors bell pepper, green onion tops, and blend into rice mixture after rice is cooked. Place the lid back on pot so as to let the vegetables steam for 10 minutes.

 

 

 

STOVETOP METHOD

 

For Jambalaya

 

1—Place Mix in 6 quart sauce pan or a black Iron Pot with 6 ¾ cups of water.

 

2--- Add 1 pound of cut pork (Trimmed fat) and bring to a slow boil for 20 minutes and stir.

 

3--- Stir in 1 pound of cut boneless / skinless chicken thighs and continue slow boil for 25 minutes more and stir.

 

4--- Stir in ½ pound of sliced sausage and bring back to a slow boil.

 

5--- Stir in 2 ½ cups of par-boiled rice sliding flat point spoon on bottom of pot, lifting gently often, and cook until tender.

 

6--- Cover and let stand 10 minutes to allow to steam itself before serving.

 

 

 

For Pastalaya

 

1—Place Mix in 8 quart sauce pan or black iron pot with 7 ¾ cups of water

 

2--- Add 1 pound of cut pork (Trimmed fat) and bring to a slow boil for 20 minutes and stir.

 

3--- Stir in 1 pound of cut boneless chicken and continue slow boil for 25 minutes more and stir.

 

4--- Stir in ½ pound of sliced sausage and bring back to a slow boil.

 

5--- Stir in 2 ½ pounds of pasta sliding flat point spoon on bottom of pot, lifting gently often to make sure pasta does not stick together, and cook until tender.

 

6--- Cover and let stand 10 minutes to allow to steam itself before serving.

 

 

 

For Dirty Rice

RICE POT RECIPES:

 

 

ALLIGATOR JAMBALAYA
Ingredients:

 

1 lb alligator meat, cut in bite size pieces

 

1 lb alligator sausage, sliced

 

1 pack CCC's Jamba-Pastalaya seasoning (save the other bag for a different meal)

 

6 cups water

 

2 1/2 cups rice

 

 

 

Directions:

 

In a large rice pot (12+ cups), add all of the ingredients, stir well, then press "Cook" function. Fluff the rice when it's done. Easy!
 
 
 
SHRIMP JAMBALAYA

2 lbs shrimp, peeled/deveined
1 pack CCC's Jamba-Pastalaya seasoning (save the other bag for a different meal)
6 cups water
2 1/2 cups rice
 
Directions:
In a large rice pot (12+ cups), add all of the ingredients, stir well, then press "Cook" function. Fluff the rice when it's done. Easy!
 
(If you want to add sausage, you can do 1 lb shrimp/1 lb sliced smoked sausage)
